Tis the Season to be Shameless!

Ahhhhh!  The holiday season is finally upon us.  There is a crisp, cool breeze in the air.  There are red sale signs and price slashing happening at retail stores across the country.  Christmas trees and lights start popping up before you’ve had a chance to put away your Halloween stuff.  Turkeys, hams, sweet potatoes and antacids are cheaper and more plentiful than ever.  We, as a people, come together once again to suffer through 4-6 weeks of nonstop ugly sweaters.  Yet, we persevere, rise again and are able to make our New Year’s resolutions on January 1.   It is truly an amazing season!

For different people, the holiday season means different things.  Whether you celebrate Christmas, Hanukah, Kwanza or Oatmeal Muffin Day, there is always meaning behind the festivities.  For those of us who are business owners or managers, it should be Shameless Self Promotion Season!  This is the time of year where we get holiday cards printed and mailed out to our clients.  We send out fruit cakes and gift cards.  We offer up extra discounts in hopes that their purchasing doesn’t decline during the month of December.  Guess what… Every vendor that your clients do business with is sending them the same lame items.
